Royal Enfield Cafe Racer specs revealed

Written By Unknown on Kamis, 03 Januari 2013 | 14.02

Even as enthusiasts across the country await the launch of the Caf Racer , Royal Enfield has unveiled the motorcycle at the Long Beach Motorcycle Show in the USA last month. The bike will be launched in the US by June or August 2013 as a 2014 model, and the unveiling has revealed some more details about the motorcycle, things we were not told at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi . For the Caf Racer, the Classic 500 's 499cc, air-cooled single has been bored out to displace 535cc, the displacement of the erstwhile Lightning 535. Power output is also up, from the Classic 500's 27PS to 36PS, which is the highest ever for a Royal Enfield. Torque ratings were not disclosed but we expect that to be significantly higher than the Classic as well.

The frame has been designed and developed by Harris Engineering, while suspension has been developed by Paioli. The Caf Racer is expected to be lighter than the Classic by about 21 kilos, which should make it as light as a Honda CBR250R . The higher power output, weight loss and the hike in engine capacity should easily make the Caf Racer the quickest and fastest Royal Enfield to date. The bike is expected to retail in the USA for the equivalent of Rs 4 lakh. While we do not expect it to be as expensive when launched in India at the next Auto Expo, we believe pricing could be in the region of Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh. A host of accessories were also announced at the unveiling, which include aluminum bits like fenders, upper and lower triple brackets, aftermarket exhausts and optional clip-on or clubman handlebars. Options will also include a single or twin saddle seat, different fuel tanks - steel, plastic or aluminum, apart from different gear ratios.

As of now, it is difficult to comment on how many of these accessories will make it to India when the bike is launched, but the engine specifications do have us waiting for the launch already!

Hold Unitech with 3-6 months perspective: Sukhani

Written By Unknown on Rabu, 02 Januari 2013 | 14.02

Sudarshan Sukhani, s2analytics.com is of the view that one should not hold SpiceJet for long time but can hold Unitech with 3-6 months perspective.

Sukhani told CNBC-TV18, "The markets are very cheerful so I do not have levels for SpiceJet specifically but I do have a time range. I do not think one should hold on to SpiceJet for a long time.

He further added, "I think the trend in Unitech is going to continue. Every dip here is a buying opportunity, momentum still favours more upside. We haven't reached overbought levels so it is a good sector to be in for the short-term trader. Unitech is likely to reach a target of Rs 40, everything else going well for it and well for the market. So I would suggest one should hold on to two-three months."

He further added, "The entire real estate sector is roaring and it is cheerful so each has their own likes and we like Indiabulls Real Estate, HDIL and Prestige Estates and DLF for the last 15 days. But that doesn't mean the other stocks are not good. It is just that we have to pick and choose. These are my choices."

PREVIEW - Clarke's chances improve for Hussey's farewell

Written By Unknown on Selasa, 01 Januari 2013 | 14.02

By Nick Mulvenney

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia skipper Michael Clarke came through a fitness test on Tuesday, indicating he will play in this week's third test against Sri Lanka and resolve at least one of the hosts' selection problems for the dead rubber match.

With an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, Australia could have been forgiven for going into the match, which starts at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, riding on the crest of a wave of optimism for the future.

The hammer blow of Michael Hussey's retirement announcement coming so quickly after that of Ricky Ponting, though, has left them contemplating their batting resources with a test series in India and back-to-back Ashes encounters to come this year.

Sri Lanka, despite being humbled by an innings and 201 runs inside three days in the second test in Melbourne, can still hold onto the hope of claiming a first test victory in Australia on what should be the most spin-friendly of the three tracks.

Hussey announced last week that the Sydney test would be his 79th and last, and the 37-year-old's chances of going out with a bang are high if statistics are anything to go by.

"Mr Cricket", as he is affectionately nicknamed, has averaged 117.75 runs in his seven previous tests against Sri Lanka, 100 in a similar number of matches at the SCG and has scored centuries in three of his last five tests.

'BIG HOLE'

Australia might need those runs if Clarke's hamstring is not risked and he joins all rounder Shane Watson in the treatment room, leaving a batting order as low on experience as Sri Lanka's is rich in it.

Usman Khawaja remains on standby for Clarke and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade admitted there would be a lot more expectation on those players who have played fewer than 20 tests, not least the uncapped Glenn Maxwell.

"We've got to accept the responsibility," Wade told reporters this week.

"It's a big hole that's going to be out of our team but our young batters are keen and eager to learn and get better and hopefully there's another 'Mr Cricket' waiting in our top six or seven."

Mitchell Starc is certain to return to the pace bowling unit, leaving one of Mitchell Johnson (man of the match in Melbourne), Peter Siddle (ditto in the first test in Hobart) or Jackson Bird (an impressive debutant in Melbourne) to miss out.

Sri Lanka's battered and bruised tour party, by contrast, have had to call for reinforcements after injuries ruled out batsman Kumar Sangakkara and bowler Chanaka Welagedera and put serious doubt over wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene and seamer Nuwan Kulasekara.

Still, batsman Thilan Samaraweera said they were still motivated by the chance of making a little bit of cricketing history.

"It was really hard to digest that defeat ... but that's the past now," batsman Thilan Samaraweera said on Monday.

"The good thing is this team has to believe they can make history if they win one test in Australia.

"That is the kind of attitude we are taking into the New Year's test."

IndusInd Bank gains 1.5% on Motilal Oswal buy report

Written By Unknown on Senin, 31 Desember 2012 | 14.02

Private sector lender IndusInd Bank gained as much as 1.5 percent to touch an intraday high of rs 421 on Monday as Motilal Oswal has recommended a buy rating on the stock with a target price of Rs 500 .

According to the research report, strong capitalisation, healthy business growth, margin expansion and healthy asset quality outlook are the key positives for the stock.

Motilal Oswal has upgraded the bank's earnings per share for FY14 by 8 percent to factor in higher margins.

"IndusInd continues to enjoy strong growth (35 percent+ CAGR over last three years) and superior asset quality (gross non-performing asset of 0.8 percent) in CV loans (24 percent of total book), despite sector slowdown. The underlying success factors are: (1) strong credit appraisal, (2) high repeat business, and (3) focus on the lower-stress SRTO segment (small road transport operators). In corporate loans segment, IIB's asset quality is helped by (1) diversified loan book, and (2) low proportion of term/unsecured loans. Management is confident of maintaining healthy loan growth of 25-30% and superior asset quality (which would keep credit cost under control)," the report says.

At 11:59 hours IST, the stock rose 0.81 percent to Rs 418.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
